Gangi
Originally Gangi, one of the most important centres of the Madonie, was more at South as today, but it was destroyed after a feudal rebellion. Today it is some kilometres far away from its original place. It is now one of the most developed centres of the territory, and is characterized by its wonderful sceneries and its important works of art.
Monuments to see are: The great cathedral with its beautiful “Universal Judgement” painted by G. Salerno in the XVIth century, the Castle, the Civic Tower, the Sanctuary of Holy Spirit and the Abbey of Gangi Vecchio.
From the highest point of Gangi you can reach the valley of the Holy Spirit Church, which is at the feet of the town.
This territory is grass covered and used for pasture. There is evan a large production of cheese, which is exported all over the world.

The most important events are: The Holy Spirit Feast (the Monday after Whitsun), the Sagra della Spiga (the Sunday before the 15th of August), the Palm Sunday.
